Driving complaints

Officers will deal with any driving complaint that is reported to them if there is suitable evidence to prove that the driving was dangerous or done without due care and attention.

On most occasions we end up with one driver's word against another.

If you witness driving of a bad standard and you have passengers in your car then please ascertain if all parties are happy to give evidential statements to the Police as this helps us greatly.

Action will always be taken when witnesses are co-operative and evidence is available.  Likewise if you see someone driving whilst using a mobile phone or something similar, let us know but remember without supporting evidence we may struggle taking the incident further.

All driving complaints are logged with the Roads Policing Unit to allow us to monitor any patterns that might develop.
